The Catch of his life

Well, this Groom loves fishing, but always tells people that his blushing Bride was his best catch.

The base tier was chocolate sponge with chocolate fudge filling, the top tier is vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream.

Decorations were made from sugarpaste, except for the umberella which was pastillage and a bamboo skewer for the handle, the fishing rod I made from florists wire and thread.

Also in the cake:

A Heron hidden among the reeds
A robin perched on his flask of tea
His black fishermans tackle box
Sandwiches in foil (one has a bite out of it)
Fish (He sent me a picture of the breed)
An Icing sign with dowelling rod pole saying "Private Fishing - Members Only"
The Bride and Groom are dressed in their outfits from photos given to me by the Bride, all she knew about the cake was that they were on it.

This concept is awesomely adorable. And WELL DONE on the cake, especially with the fondant, as I don't usually like the look of fondant, but this is an exception.
