Tattooed Japanese Grapefruit by Dragonsanddaffodils Tattooed Japanese Grapefruit by Dragonsanddaffodils
Okay, this is something I would LOVE to do, but am not irresponsible enough to do it on human flesh without someone teaching me, so hubby bought me a cheap tattoo kit and I play on grapefruit every now and again.

Was quite pleased with this, my third attempt at tattooing grapefruit, the bottom blossom has one line that slips into the centre which I was gutted about, but hey..............thats why it is on grapefruit..........not people! ;)

The original design was on Miami Ink by Christ Garver, and I favourited that on the actual person who had the tattoo (in my faves).

This ws freehanded onto the grapefruit with a felt pen, then tattooed over.

I did once, but realised I was a bit old to get an apprenticeship :(

Bizarre thing is, I only started drawing again because I really wanted to tattoo, and knew you had to be really practised, so I am grateful to it for that.

Glad you like it! I love Chris Garvers designs.

My stuff isn't that good...but thanks anyway :)
lines: sometimes a round shader will give your lines a good consistancy of width. Move your hand at the same speed all along the line. keep the machine at the same angle. 45 degrees. ;)

I wouldn't say that, your dragon was fantastic!

Thanks for the advice though, any help greatly appreciated!

So these are real actual tattooing equipments? You COULD tattoo a person with them, if you wanted to?
I have occasionally watched from tv the program about Miami Ink and I'm quite fascinated by what they do.

You could, but you really need training cos there re so many safety things you need to learn as well as just how to do it. Plus you need special equipment to clean your kit, autoclave etc.

Too many diseases and blood borne pathogens that can be transferred without the correct equipment.

The best way to learn is to find a mentor/someone who will teach you, but I am too busy with my own business t the moment, so it will have to wait. Plus, finding someone who wants to teach you is next to impossible, at 37 I am just too old for them to want to teach me, so I content myself with playing on Grapefruit,......still with gloves on and sterilised needles, one use ink pots etc etc  Don't want to give the grapefruit anything nasty!

The guy who tattooed my back is fab and chats to me and gives loads of advice, so even though I am only on grapefruit, I am still trying with the correct methods etc. I love it and would love to do it if I could, watch every tattoo show going!!!! got loads of books and am on check out my all the time!
